Tales from the Moonlit Path, one of horror's classiest e-zines, wants your best short stories at http://www.moonlit-path.com

Versatility is always an asset and this month we present a writer of short stories, novels, and scripts, an actor, and a producer. Find out about this true ‘Man of the Arts’…

…has appeared in The Odd Mind, Trei-Literary, Writer’s Together and the anthologies Atrum Tempestas and the Zombie Chronicles.

… performed onstage in the world premiere of the play Terminal—script by Roy C Booth, original novel by Brian Keene. “We all had a blast—not only during production, but before and after. The play was a success and it appears as if it may have formed some inroads for the horror genre in regards to the stage—something besides vampires dressed in drag anyway!”

…is now collaborating with Roy C Booth to bring his short story ‘Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Necromancer’ to the stage both in the US and abroad “—apparently Sherlock Holmes is big in England, imagine that.” They are also collaborating on turning another short story, ‘The Dregs’ into a novella and a script.

His favorite Justin Holley Story? “Oh man, my absolute favorite is ‘The Rock’. It’s currently entered in a contest over at Tales From the Moonlit Path magazine, but win or lose, no matter how many more stories I write, it may very well always be my personal favorite. I wrote it based on some of the fictional characters in my website guru’s infamous blog, ‘Outdriving my Headlights’. In addition to being a website guru, Diane is also one hell of a romance novelist, but you didn’t hear that from me…she’s kinda shy.”

Highly Recommended Book?  “I have lots of favorites by Keene, Laimo, and Ketchum…but my absolute favorite book is by the master himself, Richard Laymon.  BEAST HOUSE did something to me; it violated my inner senses, changed me forever, and influenced my writing— unbelievable!  Rest in peace Mr. Laymon, rest in peace.”

What’s next for Justin Holley?  “I’m rigorously marketing JEWEL, my latest novel.  There is a blurb on my website along with an artistic representation of the novel, if anyone would like to take a peek.  I’ve had a number of professionals in the literary world express interest, so, wish me luck that that interest turns into a deal…please!”

“In addition, I have also started on my next novel, which is a major expansion of my short story: ‘Zealot’ (soon to be included in the anthology Satan’s Wicked Refugees).  Those of you who enjoyed the short story may want to check it out.”

Visit Justin Holley at www.justinholley-author.com
and www.myspace.com/justinholleyauthor. “Please pop in and visit me anytime, I’d love to hear from you…and I will try my absolute best to get back to any ‘reasonable’ person and/or inquiry.”

From mother and son to broader family ties, Friel explores the bonds of human connection into every dark turn.  The humorous yet wickedly creepy "Under the Dryer" begins as a tale told by the family dog and ends in a bloodbath;  "Special Prayers," perhaps the most disturbing offering in the collection, exposes a family secret of abuse and power; and the tragically soft and beautiful "Orange and Golden" explores the purest form of the human-animal bond as the sun sets on a natural disaster.

2008 Black Quill Award Winner (Reader's Choice Award Best Dark Genre Fiction Collection)
